its been a while

Hunting Jacket 2.0 Polished cotton
Button down Oxford
Houndstooth wool scarf

It has been quite a while since we've posted. We have been busy designing our first RTW collection. More about that soon.

There is now a new member of the cloakroom, he will save you from seeing my head in our product shots. We will refrain from giving him a name but he is the new house model.

winter racing carnival

The winter carnival is upon us again. And the cloakroom is a proud sponsor of the fashions on the field. Traditionally the ladies category is a hard fought affair with girls spending thousands of dollars and months planning their outfits. We certainly don't condone the same fervor from the guys. If last year's event was any indication, a shiny pair of shoes could see you scoop the pool. We are planning to have a great day and hope to share a table in the marquee with some of you.

There are great prizes on offer including a wardrobe from us, a Longines watch from Hardy Brothers, accommodation for a family of four at Daydream Island and a dinner hosted by the inimitable Mr Alastair McLeod at Brett's Wharf.

These prizes have to be won. I would love to see some well dressed guys at the track to make sure the cloakroom's $4000 wardrobe goes to a good home.
I am looking forward to both days on the 17th and 24th of May. If like me you need something new for the event, you still have time to come in and see us.

hunting jacket MKII

This is a revised version of the hunting jacket we have done. The fabric is a 10oz wool/cashmere blend. The heavier fabric gives it a really nice line. The action pleat in the back is a detail we have incorporated and is a throw back to the heavy tweed hunting coats once used to track down foxes and the like!

Hong Kong

I was fortunate enough to have recently spent some time in Hong Kong. It is an amazing city and for those that have not been, put it on the list. Whilst there i managed to track down a little store about 20 minutes from central that specializes in bone and horn buttons. We have decided to make them a permanent feature of our range.

I have to say that there is an overload of products and things to look at. Stand-alone stores for every brand imaginable - Lanvin, Dior Homme, and a Bally on every second block.

Some highlights: Heineken in 7-11's
Lane Crawford. (Makes David Jones look like Big W)
Zaha Hadid's travelling art container.(the exhibition is a bit dubious)
Scotch at Felix. Phillipe Starck bar at The Peninsula Hotel Kowloon.

That's two alcohol related highlights but it was thirsty work!

new service

We are proud to introduce a premium level of service and product here at the cloakroom.
The traditional bespoke service will allow customers to adjust the shape and fit along the way, with as many fittings required. The tailor's baste stitch allows the garment to be de-constructed, adjusted and fitted to suit.

Also in the shop is a new selection of French fabric from DORMEUIL. The majority of fabric uses Australian wool. There are however some exotics on the list including.

Vanquish 20% Vicuna 80% Pashmina. at $4000 per metre. wow!
